First Sprite Works Pokemo10

These are a few Pokemon fusions I did... my first sprite work! Very Happy I sent all but #7 to Pixel Art in Review. Please critique... try and guess which Pokemon I fused if you want.

For first sprite work, these are pretty solid, but they do have problems with them, as all sprites do. I'll just be pointing out big problems since it's a larger collection of sprites than the normal stuff I critique.

The first two look prett solid, but the sheer amount of dithering with the shades you used just doesn't work. It makes the sprites feel cluttered and messy. Also, it's Yamask and Duskull (Which I like the combo of), and Sandslash and Aggron (which honestly just looks like a Desert Aggron.) 3 also has a slight dithering issue that doesn't work on what was dithered (bones) and, again, just makes it look kinda messy (Mega Houndoom and Rapidash.)

4 is solid. No major issues (Jigglypuff and the baby of Marill.)

5 has a shading issue. Since the shading doesn't follow the traditional Pokemon light source, the shadows are in different spots. Thile these shadows are somewhat consistent throughout the sprite, the light source works against the sprite. It looks really flat up top because of its sheer lack of shadows (Serperior and /sigh/ Gogoat.)

This one (6) looks the best, in my opinion. However, it does have some slight shading issues on the body. (Mega Absol and /sigh/ Shiny Umbreon.)

7 just looks kinda messy. The proportions are a little weird, as well as the position of the hind legs. The glowing lines look kinda haphazardly put together, and again, has some weird shading, as well as just some poor color choice, like that grey on the head. (Is it...Luxio and Yveltal?)

You show promise, but I feel like, instead of trying a lot of different styles, try finding one you like and getting that down pat, and THEN break out into more unique shading styles.

Thanks for the great advice, Llama. I dunno, they were all at different times. I did the shiny effecty ones and then the flat coloring ones. #7 is Luxray and shiny mega Groudon. I tried to give it the lava streaks and it didn't really go as planned. Haha! Thanks again!
