a pixel forest thing

i wanted to experiment a little and i had a lot of fun with this! i've been trying to find a balance between studying and art and idk if i've found that balance yet, but i'll keep trying until i find something that works. but hey, now i get to make more art because of it

red riding hood is my fav and i really liked the idea of pixelling a forest! forests are just so calming. i like the direction i'm heading with this. i want to keep doing more and more ambitious backgrounds and scenery that are even more detailed and just keep on improving.

Just remember, it's not just about detail. The angles and actual setup of the scene itself also needs to be somewhat interesting as well. I learned that the hard way. My wrists won't forget that...

of course! having good composition in art really does make a difference. it's something i'd need to practice bc i'm not used to drawing backgrounds or scenes, but it's something i want to get better at. i'm looking to mark ferrari as my inspiration bc omg his pixel art is out of this world *q*

My general suggestion would be to start small. Keep the color palette generally small, keep the canvas size generally small, and slowly build from there. I kind of did the opposite of that with my "first" one.

Also, after looking into whoever Mark Ferrari is, I am already mad because he calls pixel art "8bit Game" art when it is SO CLEARLY NOT 8BIT. But yeah, his pixel art is pretty good. Just remember to keep it your own, and to experiment with the styles you use.
