First Attempt at Spriting Empty First Attempt at Spriting

Hey there, I'm Rosemadary! This is my first time on the forums here, but I'm a long time viewer of the YouTube channel. Anyway, these were my first attempts at spriting. I need some advice. I'm very bad at shading my work.

Very first attempt:

So, uh, hit me up with any tips or tricks you might have!

for a 1st time spriter this is pretty solid work. the transformation of the dawn sprites and the weather girl sprites transformed into your oc it works really well. the only problem I can see with these sprites is your character has a gold bracelet in the original sprite but no bracelet in the 2nd she is also missing socks in the 2nd sprite.

The trainer sprites and mugshots are pretty good, but the biggest problem I see is all the shades being pretty close together. If you come from a traditional/digital art background (which I'm just going to assume for now), that stuff is pretty standard, but with Pokemon style sprites, shades need to be more distinguished from one another. This is most obvious with the shades of white and yellow, as well as the skin tone, but all of the colors seem to have this problem somewhat. I'd also suggest using bits of black outlining here and there where the shadows would be darkest just to have a bit more definition between things, and making the sprite look less soft.
Overall, though, for first sprites, these are great. Do you have spots to improve? Of course, but we all do. You show a lot of potential with this, starting off this good. I can't wait to see where you go from here. Best of luck to you ^u^

Thanks so much for the advice! And, uh, this is my finished mugshot. If you have time, could you tell me what you think of it?

Thanks for the input! The differences between the two trainer sprites were actually intentional. I did the mugshot first, and I wanted to see what outfit I liked better on the trainer sprites.

The mugshot is pretty good, but my main things about the trainer sprites still hold true. If you want, I can show you my trainer sprite and mugshot to kind of give you an idea, if you think it would help.
Either way, though, it looks really good, just needs some touch ups here and there. Keep up the good work ^u^
