The Gym Leaders of Erita

Time for me to post another example of my hard work which will yet again get ignored.



The first gym is located on a small island off the coast of the Erita Landmass and specializes in flying types. It is lead by a 10 year old boy named Airrin who would rather play with his Pokemon than battle. He will use Pokemon ranging from level 13-14, and will give the player the Air badge when defeated.

The second gym is found in a submarine which was once used to explore the many undersea ruins around Erita, but has now been converted into a floating city and gym. The leader Nerida is an elegant, upperclass woman who specializes in water type Pokemon ranging from levels 18-20. She will award the player the Lake badge when defeated.

The third gym is an unusual case. The gym leader, Ophelia Acacia, is also Erito's Pokemon professor. She also is researching a way to make better, less expensive healing items for Pokemon. Aside from that, she specializes in poison type Pokemon ranging from levels 29-32, and will give the player the Chemical badge when defeated.

Up high in the mountains of Erito is a tiny village that is home to the fourth gym. The fighting type specialist, Cadney, is a spiritual man who seeks trainers who show a true dedication to their Pokemon, not just as partners, but as friends too. His Pokemon range from levels 35-38, and he will give the player the Chi badge when defeated.

The fifth gym brings the player out to yet another island, however it can only be accessed by airplane or the move fly. It is an extremely futuristic city and the gym leader, Alyssa, although you may not expect it, specializes in Steel type Pokemon. She is an internationally ranked video game superstar who enjoys all sorts of Pokemon, big or small, and her team shows. Her Pokemon range from levels 41-45, and she will award the player the Wrought badge when defeated.

The sixth gym finally brings the player to a dark type gym. It is lead by the mysterious ladies man magician Wylin. He likes to use lots of tricks in battle, and his team ranges from levels 48-52. He awards the player the Lunar badge when defeated.

Unusually, the elegant town located behind a massive waterfall hosts Erita's seventh gym, the fire type Gym. Aedan, the leader, is a young and edgy guitarist who wants nothing more than to be noticed and adored. He can sometimes be found playing in clubs across Erita. His Pokemon range from levels 55-60, and he gives the player the Combustion badge when defeated.

The final gym is one that only opened recently. After a mysterious event involving an angry Dragon trainer the Ground type gym opened at Erita Badlands University. The leader, Caramel, is a musician in the school band and often faces conflict with the football team captain over who the leader of the new gym is. Inevitbly, her battle skills triumphed over his, and she works as the full time leader. Her pokemon range from levels 64-70, and she gives the player the Vibration badge when defeated.

This has great potential. I love the design of each character (especially Ophelia), and the teams you've chosen are great too.
I would suggest that some of the badges don't look quite right, though.
- Alyssa's badge doesn't represent the steel type well, and looks more like a poison or ghost badge. Giving it stronger lines and perhaps changing the colours slightly might help with this.
- Wylin's badge doesn't look like a 'lunar badge' so perhaps a simple name change (illusion badge?) might be sufficient. Otherwise you could consider a design showing a crescent moon with the dark side included?
- Although Aedan's badge isn't bad... I feel that his character is just asking to have a badge shaped like a guitar pick with flames on it or something.
- Caramel's badge also doesn't look vibration-y (it looks like either a snake or a treble clef)... Perhaps it could be remodeled to look like like a seismograph (those old devices with a needle and reams of paper to measure vibrations and earthquakes)? I also really hope Caramel's a geology major ;p

-Didn't actually think about making Caramel a geology major- but that's a good idea b/c band kids are usually smart. Anyway her badge IS supposed to be a treble cleft, b/c she's a marching band drum major.
-I had Aedan's badge design a while ago- and frankly it looked better when i drew it rather than when I spirited it. The flaming guitar pick is a good idea, but I have too many shaped badges. I wanted him to have more of a classic badge design.
-Love the name illusion badge for Wylin. Fact I'm gonna actually change it to that. I had trouble coming up with names for a dark type magician-y badge. And again he suffers the same problem as Aedan- his badge looks way better in my hand drawing. And the light blue I think part of the swirly bits is supposed to be a crescent moon.
-I really had no idea what to do for Alyssa's badge. Every design I drew was sort of boring looking, and a video game controller was way too cheesy.

If you look at the badges from the current games to date, most of them (excluding a few from Kanto) very clearly show what type the gym is and incorporate the leader's personality into that, rather than the other way around which it feels like you've done.  Hence my suggestion for some of the badges.
With that in mind, perhaps Alyssa could have a badge that looks like an iron post (like you might see on the fences of victorian-era houses).  It would suit the name 'Wrought Badge' and you could stylise it to fit what sort of characters she plays in games (scepter for a mage/cleric, make it look like a sword for a warrior).  Or her badge could be shaped like a plus (pad) with some extra details so it didn't look too cheesy?

I'm surprised you haven't had more comments - this is quality work and the effort you've put into each character really shows.  The forum's aren't well populated though, so perhaps people just haven't seen it.  (If we keep bumping this thread they might ;p)

I'm just surprised there aren't a lot of people on these forums overall. I mean Silver's videos get thousands of views and he usually mentions the forums. I don't know why people don't join, or let alone why 90% of the members aren't even remotely active.

I know it's really odd.

Hey I was bored so I made some re-models of a few gym leaders. I also have my Electric and Grass Elite 4 here so... (I think it's pretty obvious which is which...)
I also added in my really really awful 1st design of my Poison gym leader because she was one of my first sprites. Fun fact that awful old sprite was sent into the show... and still hasn't been reviewed. Oh God help me.

It is weird. I honestly find this forum as a way for people to have questions answered that are not seen on the Youtube comments section. Let's face it, Jem (or Silver. Which ever you feel comfortable calling him as) doesn't exactly have the time to read and comment on every single video he's created. Of course, I usually answer the most of the questions, but I'm sure people want to have answers from someone who created the channel... Not some random ass 15 Year Old that happens to play Pokemon. I guess people are just timid to be a part of something... Who knows...

I made A sprite and named him Kenta he uses dark types i don't really want to use him but if your planning to make a dark type elite you can use this sprite also are you able to make a overworld sprite and a mugshot for my personal remastered sprite? if you can that would be amazing

Hey sorry to tell you this but in case you haven't noticed I already have a Dark type trainer in my Gym leaders. And I've already come up with ideas and designs for my Elite 4, I just haven't gotten to making them all sprites yet. (Electric, Grass, Fairy, Ghost) Anyway, as an apology I made you a mugshot. Sorry didn't have time for overworlds.
