I think you should post the original, because this is impossible to critique. Its blured and upscaled, though from what I can tell the colours are horribly garish and blinding.

I agree with what Future said for the most part. The first one is the male trainer from BW2 recoloured with some retooled hair. The colours make it look both garish and bland somehow. If you toned down the colours, it wouldn't be too bad. There are some outlines to fix, mostly on the left side (viewer's POV), the elbow on that side is rather large and odd looking, and the hair is oddly shaded. The second sprite suffers from some similar problems (garish colours, stiff leg, hat cut off, oddly shaded hair, and some straight lines) but the design has a lot of potential. It has a lot of character and with some fixing could be a great sprite!

They pretty much covered everything that I would have said. It's great to see a new pixel artist, though. I wish you the best of luck on the rest of your pixel art endeavors, and we will be more than willing to help you out with it.
