Hi! New meat here.

Hi there! My name is Ink and I'm 100% new here. I found Silver League through the Youtube channel and while I'm not really a competitive battler (though I have had a lot of fun experimenting with iv breeding and items and egg moves) I thought it might be fun to join a pokemon community based around having fun with the world and helping each other improve. I'm an artist and you'll most likely find me in the art forums after this!

Right now my current project is breeding up a viable all-shiny bug team for my own utterly self-indulgent gym. They're never going to be good for Actual Competitive Battling but they're still going to be my pride and joys. And most importantly, I got them all legitimately, often after weeks of breeding! Another thing that drew me to SL was the focus on obtaining all your pokemon legitimately, and while I know here that refers more to IVs and movesets, for me it also includes shininess. Shinies should be something you work for, amirite?

Anyway, thanks for reading this! I look forward to seeing you around in the art forums, and maybe who knows -- I might start breeding up my own competitive team. You don't have a Bug gym leader yet.

I'm quite the shiny breeder (and hunter) myself, and I know what you mean. They pretty much mean nothing if you hack them- it's all about earning them.

And I'm sure your bug team will at least be a force against anybody not prepared. That's what I like about battling- if you're creative, you might throw your opponent off just enough to win.

Yeah! I got two shiny Venipede before the perfect one with Speed Boost and the right stats came out. It was far, far more satisfying finally getting it right and then training it up to a badass Scolipede than just hacking it in ready-made.

Also yeah! There's a lot to be said about creativity and smart movesets/item choice, and I've got my team set up to take advantage of that even if I'm by no means an expert. Also I grandfathered Kabutops in because it was probably bug type before it fossilized and I desperately needed something that could learn water moves but shhhhhh.

yeah what DA said like the time she thought i was going to switch into a levitate pokemon and wasnt sure but still used EQ when i sent out a hydreigon.
