What was your First Shiny Pokémon memory?

Well, exactly as the title says I just wanted to ask about other players Shiny Pokemon memories (I'm not counting Red Gyarados personally as cool looking as it is) so I'll start:

My first Shiny was a Shiny Ponyta caught in Pokémon Diamond, I can still remember it clear as the day it happened: walking south from Veilstone City (possibly level-grinding, not sure on this aspect) and finding a BLUE Ponyta! I knew I had to have it so ... again, this part is lost to me. But what I do remember is catching this gorgeous blue Fire Horse Pokémon in a Luxury Ball and saving immediately afterwards haha!

I dug out my Pokémon Diamond game for the purposes of this post and her stats are as follows:
Current Lv: 48
Location: Route 214
Date Met: Feb 9, 2008
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: Flash Fire (I honestly thought she had Run Away until I checked for this post!)
Moves: Return, Tail Whip, Flare Blitz, Flamethrower
Pokéball: Luxury Ball

So that's my first Shiny Pokémon ever, not counting Red Gyarados!

So what was your first Shiny Pokémon? I'd love to know!

Here to share one of my shiny pokémon memories, sadly it's not a happy one. My first shiny I encountered way back in Pokémon Pearl was a green Golbat I found in the Snowpoint City ruins while grinding. However much to my young self's dismay I ended up knocking it out due to being caught off guard...

Worst thing being that's not the only shiny I've knocked out accidentally, but it was the first. The other victims include pokémon like Wingull, Whismur, Mareep and Trevenant. I just hit for earthquake or rock slide too quickly without looking at the screen while EV training in horde battles.

As much as it upsets me I don't care too much for shiny pokémon right now. Being far more concerned with having pokémon that are fit for fighting. Having the right nature, nickname, IV;s and what not. Though of course that doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy having a pokémon that have those things. It's just a bit too hard and testing of my patience to pull off. However should I ever try to get a shiny I'd love to have a black Charizard Y or Primal Groudon. I doubt I'll ever get either of them, but a guy can dream I suppose.

With that little trip down memory lane, I'd like to thank you for the post. It was nice. ^w^

Ponyta was the first Shiny I caught but not the first one I saw (again not counting Red Gyarados) ... Funny thing is I don't remember the game (pretty sure it was a Gen III game) the first one I encountered was a Shiny Graveller ... I don't think I need to say what happened here.

You want a Shiny Charizard? I can get you a Shiny Charmeleon! I have several consoles and one of them gives a Fire Safari with Charmeleon. I can go hunt for it and get back to you, any preference on Nature? Please let me know, it would be nice to help a fellow Pokéfan out.

P.S I also lost a Shiny Delibird (ran out of Pokéballs) in X/Y and more recently in Sun & Moon I lost a Shiny Wailmer by soft-resetting over it =_='

I sort of took you for a shiny hunter given your choice of topic for your first post. And I'm sorry about your own misfortunes as well. Yeah Gravelers have, how do I put it best, an explosive temper. It certainly seems that I'm not alone in having lost a shot at a shiny or two.

If you want to help me get that shiny Charizard I'd love your help I'd prefer a timid one nicknamed either Katon or something else you might come up with. ^w^

I'd also love to thank you for your help in some way. Would you be interested in a shiny Teddiursa I got from wonder trade? Or perhaps a shiny Articuno my friend gave me after he won it on a contest? Don't worry he said I could do what I wanted with it as thanks for helping him transfer all his gen 6 pokémon over to gen 7. I can hardly vouch for their legitimacy as both are virtually perfect across the board. But if you want to keep them as collectibles I wouldn't see any harm in it. If not I can perhaps breed a pokémon of your choice. It's up to you. ^w^

P.S. I hope you'll come to post more in the future. You seem to have good ideas on your mind.

I'm not a Shiny Hunter exactly, not like PokéTubers RandomTens, I'm just looking to complete my Pokédex and occasionally I hunt for Shinies in the Friend Safari.

Anything you feel happy with would be fine, doesn't have to be a Shiny! I'd be happy with a Zigzagoon or a Poochyena (I love Poochyena!).

Timid Nature and named Katon? Sure, my Timid Mew will make that easy! Do you prefer one gender over the other or don't mind?

I'll get to the Friend Safari later today, I have chores right now but just wanted to let you know I can do it. I can throw in a Rare Berry too if you need one (Enigma, Rowap, etc?) I'll be using either my X or Y game depending on which console I find first. I'll let you know when I catch one.

As for the Charmeleon all is good. No berry or item needed, but I would prefer to have a male, though should you find a female (which is less likely) it wouldn't change much, I'd still love to have one.

If it's no trouble ... May I ask for Poochyena in exchange for Charmeleon? If I have a few more days I'm sure I can get you both genders if I just keep at it. I remember using PokéNav to chain over 100 Poochyena in ORAS to get ones that had Ice Fang AND they had ideal Natures too! So if possibly a Poochyena, if it happens to know Ice Fang that would be amazing but if not never mind. Since I only have 2 Pokémon in this Safari (I have no idea how to unlock the 3rd) I can't offer a Charmeleon with a HA sorry =_='

If you say so LadyLeomon. That will be a couple of normal Ice fang Poochyena coming right up. Can breed a pair with perfect I.V;s as well since I already have a Mightyena and 6 I.V. ditto to work with on my Omega Ruby.

Also if the Charmeleon doesn't have the H.A. that's alright. I intend on using the mega's ability anyway. You have my thanks too and I'll be in touch as well.

Ideally I'd love a 'normal' ability Poochyena (to me that's Intimidate) but I wouldn't mind a Tangled Feet either, I'm just used to using Intimidate Mightyena. No worries! I'll get back to you when I catch a Gold Charmeleon.

My very first *shiny* was a Tentacool, I was playing of a friends copy of Pokemon ruby at the time and helping raise and teach my old friend a bit on how to beat the e-4.

As for the first one I personally ran into In my game That would be pokemon platinum when I was EV/IV training my old blissy and ran into a shiny graveler.- Thats all for now Remainz

Hmm... you know I honestly don't have too many Shiny Memories. But let's see...

The Red Gyarados! That was my first one... though Not sure I fully realized it was like 'shiny' or what not... took me FOREVER to catch it. Or did I? I forget.

Let's see... I've encountered like I think 2 Wild Geodude Shiny's in a hoard... and they came, they saw.. they got blowed up! *sigh*

So yeah, not counting the Red Gyarados, (or the Shiny Haxorus in that special location) And also excluding shinies that were given out via events... I've really only got like 3 Shiny Pokémon I've seen and caught in the wild.

1) Shiny Magicarp.. I chained for it... I dunno just I was like, it's possible to get one easy for the.. either 5th gen or 6th gen fishing chaining... so yeah... I got one

2) Shiny Koffing… literally forgot what I was doing in the game... but it was post game... but I had to pass through that Fire Path, in ORAS... and :O Shiny Koffing! Random yes but yeah. So I caught it! My first non-chaining/special/Event Shiny Pokémon!!

3) Got a shiny Ditto while SOS chaining for some good ditto's for IV Breeding.. I still think I need one that includes... rats forgot what stat it was... But yeah.. saw the Shiny and like MINE!! has 3 perfect IV's too (or was it 4? Eh again too long :/ )

That's a total downer, sorry I can remember encountering a Shiny Graveller in (I think) Victory Road in one of the Gen III games and well ... what is this Pokémon known for doing? =_='

More recently I lost a Shiny Delibird in X/Y while levelling up my weaker mons in Friend Safari (my main squad was too strong to risk an attack) so I just tossed Pokéballs until I eventually ran out ... then ran away from it! If I didn't hate Delibird before I did after this!

Even more recently I was fishing for a rare Pokémon in Sun/Moon (the one with Hapu's trial) and ended up soft-resetting over a Shiny Wailmer =_=*

So yeah, I too have known the pain of losing a Shiny! I've learned since then: always count to 3 before soft-resetting!
