Re: How to properly iv breed
There are plenty of guides for this on youtube but I can give you the basics really quick.
When breeding normally 3IVs are passed down from the parents, these three IVs are selected from 12 stats, Parent A's Hp, Atk, Def, Sp Atk, Sp Def and Spe, and Parent B's Hp, Atk, Def, Sp Atk, Sp Def and Spe. The 3 IVs chosen are always random but you can rest assured that it will never pick the same corresponding stat twice, I.E. if parent A's speed is picked then Parent B's speed cannot be picked as well. The 3 remaining stats that are not inherited will be completely random. With the use of items you can manipulate how this works. Say Parent A has a perfect defense stat and I want the pokemon hatched from the egg to also have perfect defense but do not want to worry about the rng. By giving parent A a power belt (the power item that enhances def when ev training) parent A's defense will always be chosen as one of the 3 stats that are chosen. This works for all the power items corresponding to each of the stats. Lastly, the destiny knot is your best friend. When one of the parents is holding destiny knot it changes the amount of inherited stats from 3 to 5 so if you have two parents that have high IVs you increase the chance that the hatched pokemon will inherit these IVs and only have 1 random IV to worry about. If breeding with two parents that have 6 perfect IVs the hatched pokemon will always have 5-6 perfect IVs with a 1/32 chance to get the perfect 6IV pokemon.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask, this only covers how to breed for IVs, breeding is obviously more complicated than just IVs as there are natures, hidden powers (which are related to breeding for IVs) and egg moves that need to be taken into consideration. If you would like to make a request for pokemon to be bred with near perfect-perfect IVs you can post a request on my breeding thread in the trading section of the forums, it is not easy to breed for IVs without the proper tools (the power items, destiny knot, high IV ditto/pokemon you want to breed) so if you want something quickly but lack the tools to make it happen feel free to make a request.

In XY/ORAS talk to the judge in the pokemon center of Kiloude City/Battle Resort respectively, they will tell you how go the combined IVs of your pokemon [decent, above average, superior, outstanding(from worst to best, actual numbers can be found if you look online)] and tell you what the pokemon's highest stats are followed by a message, they can't be beat! is the one you want to see because that means perfect IVs in those stats.

Here I looked up all the numbers for ya.
Decent: all IVs add up to a number between 0-90
Above Average: all IVs add up to a number between 91-120
Superior: All IVs add up to a number between 121-150
Outstanding: All IVs add up to a number between 151-186
IVs can be any number from 0-31, 0 being the lowest and 31 being the highest, each IV translates to the amount a stat is raised once the pokemon is level 100 so a level 100 pokemon with 6 perfect IVs gets +31 in all its stats.

I don't really have any dittos I can lend right now, but like I said if you would like me to breed you a high IV pokemon or a few I could, I have a forum thread on the trading forum just for that.ikey123 wrote:Oh cool thanks and about the request of borrowing a high iv ditto like I pointed out is it a yes or a no cause it would be very useful but if It is a bit on a trouble it doesn't matter

Re: How to properly iv breed
So right one last question if you had a Pokemon with 5 IVs and had destiny knot and those five IVs were based done and you had one of the power items related to that one maxed out stat that Pokemon didn't have and put it on a Pokemon that can be bred with the original Pokemon that had a maxed out iv on the stat that the original Pokemon did have could you potentially get 6 IVs

No, destiny always ensures that 5 IVs are inherited, power item makes it so that the stat of the parent wearing it relating to the power item is always passed down, that means that one is chosen and then 4 more are inherited and the 6th is a random number between 0 and 31 making it a 1/32 chance to be perfect. The best chance to get a 6iv pokemon is by breeding two 6IV pokemon, and even then there is only a 1/32 chance you'll hatch a 6IV pokemon.

Re: How to properly iv breed
Yes, only 5 IVs will be inherited, they will still be dependent on the 12 the parents have but it significantly increases the chances of getting good pokemon hatched from eggs if you have parents with max IVs.
