Untitled Fan Fiction Lore
This is a spot for me to post my Lore for my upcoming Fan Fiction. Feel free to discuss it and ask questions here, because everything in the story will be posted on a different thread. This will be updated over time. I'll just post what I have done.
More to be added. A lot more.
- EVENTS:
The Syrtain Massacre: A full siege of Syrtain by Gryus, with the help of the Aquablades. This event led to a large population drop in the hold, leading to economic issues.
The Great Fire: Within the first century of Kadrial's existance, a great fire and drought ravaged the Hold, causing this widely forested Hold to lose most of its farmland and forests, and being as the land is low in valuble minerals, such as Iron or Bronze, the Hold has been in economic turmoil ever since.
- HISTORIC FIGURES:
Zesrik Black-Heart: The deceased father of Rydrus Iron-Skin. He forced the hold of Voltuun into immense poverty and brought about it's "War Age", in which they attacked as many holds as they could to show their dominance.
Brealeck the Kind: He was an immensely kind individual who fought for those who couldn't fight for themselves. He often went out of his way to assist others, and was seen as a good person by almost everyone.
- FACTIONS:
Brotherhood of Nightmares: A mage faction that focuses on preying on the weak minded and exploits their fears. Worships Darkrai.
The Black Wings: A cult whose members typically have no combat experience that strives to see all the world in pain and suffering, and wants to summon Giratina to do so.
The Rainbow Feathers: A group of Fire archers that seek to cleanse darkness and evil from the world. Worships Ho-Oh.
The Tree Stags: A faction of healers who want to spread peace and prosperity to all the people of the land. Worships Xerneas.
The Cleansing Fire: A group of battle hardened Fire knights that strive to eliminate evil through brute force. Worships Groudon.
The Priests of Arceus: Priests who wish to spread the knowledge of the one true god, and all of the lesser gods. They are not fighters.
Aquablades: A faction of highly skilled swordsmen that is an army for hire, and are frequently looking for new members. Worships Kyogre.
The Sea Storm Clan: A warrior like clan where the only way to join is to defeat a current member in combat. They also typically act similar to pirates. Worships Lugia.
The Grace of Ice: A faction of Ice Mages that only strive for grace while in combat. They are reclusive, and not much is known about them. Worship Articuno.
The Band of Thieves: A collection of master thieves that is centered within Faraghan. They believe that the only people worth stealing from are the rich. They have no direct affiliation with any Legendaries, but most assume that they worship Suicune.
The Lagrasaria (Mountain People): A mountain tribe in Gryus and Thisreail that often takes travelers off of roads and use them for slave labor. They are against the rule of the land by anyone, and want to eliminate all the holds. Worship Celibi.
- HOLDS/COUNTRIES:
Gryus: The "rough" hold, as it is a very rocky and mountainous hold that is low in food, but high in minerals and metals. Home to some of the best blacksmiths and richest mines.
Thisreail: The "forest" hold, as it is heavily forested and has a large amount of hunting, but also a large amount of crime as most of the hold is wilderness.
Kadrial: The "poor" hold, as it is low in all natural resources. Has a surprisingly low crime rate due to the fact that few people have anything worth stealing.
Faraghan: The "rich" hold, as it is the trading hub for the continent. Crime rate is the highest, however, mainly due to the Sea Storm Clan preying on many cargo ships.
Dregreth: The "historic" hold, as it contains many ruins, however, many of the ruins have become homes to dangerous Pokemon and Factions, thus making it have the highest disappearance rates.
Syrtain: The "empty" hold, as it has very little interesting locations to it, and a low population. However, it is also the safest hold, and has the smallest crime rate thanks to it's expertly trained guards.
Biremurk: The "swamp" hold, as most of the hold is covered in water. It has a large amount of fishing and trading, but also high crime and disappearance rates do to the ease at which one can hide.
Voltuun: The "war" hold, as it focuses on having an immensely powerful military. It has an extremely low crime rate, but is also fairly poor. Any member of the Aquablades is to be killed on sight by guards.
- RULERS:
Reldis Silver-Hammer: Ruler of Gryus: He is 71, and has been ruling for 47 years. He was the main cause of the high amount of mining and forging that takes place, which is how he earned the title Silver-Hammer. He is brash, but is willing to do what needs to be done for the greater good, even if it goes against his beliefs.
Dreydis Talloni: Ruler of Thisreail: He is 41, and has been ruling for 19 years. He dislikes expansion and change, which is why the hold is still mostly wilderness. He is quick to make decisions without thinking them through, and often makes poor choices in the heat of the moment.
Gryrdon The Fool: Ruler of Kadrial: He is 56, and has been ruling for 21 years. In his 7 year as ruler, he received a call of war from the Hold of Voltuun, but simply ignored it, causing many of it's forests and farm lands to be burned down, leading to it's current economic turmoil, thus earning him the title of "Fool".
Eyrian Dyliss: Ruler of Faraghan: She is 29, and has been ruling for 11 years. When she was 18, both of her parents were assassinated by The Black Wings, forcing her to become ruler. She is wise for her age, and makes very calculated and exact decisions.
Skrawl the Ancient: Ruler of Dregreth: He is 92, and has been ruling for 68 years. He has been alive for so long, rumors began to spread that he is immortal. However, in his old age, he can't make decisions as well as he used to, which lead to an increase in crimes.
Fidral Rockson: Ruler of Syrtain: He is 39, and has been ruling for 18 years. During his year of his rule, the Syrtain Massacre took place, causing a large amount of the population to die. He has since made the guards some of the best of all the holds to help prevent another such event.
Marian the Swift: Ruler of Biremurk: She is 47, and has been ruling for 16 years. She believed that in order for the country, to be successful as a hold, they needed to go into trade, similar to that of Faraghan, and has been slowly been reducing the crime rate as she used to be a thief, and uses her knowledge to catch them.
Rylus Iron-Skin: Ruler of Voltuun: He is 41, and has been ruling for 20 years. He is following in his father's footsteps and is controlling the hold like a dictator, and rules out of fear. He has made an effort to have all the other holds fear him and his army.

Re: Untitled Fan Fiction Lore
Didn't realize this was a Pokemon Fan Fiction-based lore, at first. Caught me off guard with the war mentions and such. Definitely got a lot down for your world building. I've done this myself for worlds, so I understand how much time and effort was put into this. Know it's a work in progress too, but I am curious how Pokemon play into this setting. Some descriptions for the Cities/Towns section would be nice, as well. And if this thread was meant to to purely house Updates for the Lore, just lemme know and I'll delete my post so it isn't cluttering up anything.

Re: Untitled Fan Fiction Lore
Naw, it's fine. I kinda want people to discuss ideas and such for me to add to it. The towns probably won't get described simply so it is a suprise as to what they look like and where they are located.
Re: Untitled Fan Fiction Lore
In that case. Ahem.
What this needs is current events, something to give an impression of how the world thinks and feels as of now. To me, this all comes off as the Dark Ages with all the death going around. And there are a lot of religions, too. I get the impressions everyone's having a hard time, so people are willing to look for help in all sorts of places. In light of this, perhaps something similar to the Crusades of old could be happening. Multiple religions with heavy ties to their respective country all warring in order to claim what each believes is their birthright, sacred holiness of their god, or just slaughter infidels.
But since some factions are less feisty than others, like Priests of Arceus and the Tree Stags, I can't help but see something similar to the American "Civil" War where there were border states between the two sides. Perhaps certain factions could be roughly aligned with others. A matter of "Who I hate the least" in order to claim whatever their ultimate goal is. I can already see the Darkrai and Giratina followers allying. Or maybe not. It's often said "Heroes" and "Villains" are so very much set against the other because of just how similar they really are, but for one or two differences in opinion (which once again reminds me of the Crusades: Christian vs. Muslim).

Re: Untitled Fan Fiction Lore
I'll get to the current events soon, but I want to get all the history and important details up and running first, just so it is understandable why groups or countries are doing what they are doing. The religions are actually one religion with multiple deities that people "worship" individually based on that deity's traits or actions. For example, the Knights of the Cleansing Flame worship Groudon because he despises all evil and is the God of War and Bravery. (Also, I should mention that all the Gods aren't actually the legendary Pokemon. They are envisioned as human/human like, and they had the names first. The Legendary Pokemon were named after them.)
Re: Untitled Fan Fiction Lore
On that note, I should probably get to designing the deities, shouldn't I.
