Hey guys, just wanted to stop by and introduce myself! I usually go by either the names WitchHunterBrand or Brand The Witch Hunter, but I like going by simply Brand for short. I've recently been getting into all kinds of drawing and spriting, but I joined the bandwagon a little too late and I'd say my art isn't quite up to par yet. I'm working diligently and putting off all kinds of hours playing my favorite games studying these kinds of things and attempting to apply each of the skills as best as I can. Scrolling around YouTube, I ended up finding the Pixel Art In Review series, and that's pretty much what brings me here today. They're a huge help, and I find myself watching all the past videos in my free time.

So I thought, why not meet the community up front? Everyone seems pretty rad over here, so I'm willing to join the bunch. However, I'm not that huge of a Pokemon guy so I'm not entirely sure if I'm considered to be a part of the Silver League or not(?). But who knows, I might make some Pokemon game sprite mock-ups of what I'm really focusing on, so that's always a possibility. And this brings me to the REAL reason why I'm here.

I'm taking all sorts of digital art classes this year to get on track for the future and possible work ahead of me. I'm a senior in high-school and I've realized that I am extremely behind where I need to be if I'm ever going to pursue a career related to drawing, spriting, and the like. I was originally thinking of being an Animator, but I realized that there's too many limits to what I want to be doing. So instead, I have my sights set on eventually becoming a Game Designer.

The 2 games that I fall back on when I'm not working on anything related to this project is either Undertale, or Phantasy Star Online 2, games I've grown to enjoy quite fondly. I love the major concepts of both games, which struck the idea of creating a somewhat active 2D RPG with the aspects and tactical thinking involved in a real-time combat based game. Strategy based games are easily my favorite kind, which is why this hole Witch/Demon Hunter theme for this persona I've developed came into play.

While I might not be the best artist as of now, I'd definitely consider myself to be a pro at creating awesome characters and storylines. I have a large amount of characters shelled out, the only think setting me back is I don't really have any exceptionally good art of any of them! However, the first step to becoming good at art is trying, and trying my absolute hardest is what I aim to do.

So yeah, that's it about me. I hope to actively check in and communicate with you guys often when I get up to speed on things, and if you guys are really curious about my project I might even start a thread explaining the story and the characters involved with it as well. And one things for sure; I'd love more than anything in the world to see fanart of my characters! So, if anyone is willing to do that, that would be absolutely amazing.

If you ever have any major questions, me or any of the other Regulars would be more than willing to try and help you out. Also, if you ever need critiques on your sprites, I'd be more than willing to help you out, since I'm a pretty avid spriter myself (though, since my computer died, I have naturally gotten a tad rusty). Why especially from me? (And actually, no, people don't really joke about that xD) I mean, I'm just an average spriter at best, I just sprite a lot. Oh, I'd hope seeing you around here a lot. You seem like a fun guy to talk to. As for Facebook, I'm...never on there, frankly. It's been well over 3 years since I've been on there. Oh yeah, we can totally PM here back and forth if you want ^^

Ah, the way I critique is always a mix of positive and negative. Just getting the negative upsets some people and drives them away.

It should be good soon. Right now, I just use my school's computers and I "borrow" my parent's computer, but my time is so limited.

More the merrier, after all. Having one guy review work is definitely better than having none. I mean yeah I can understand critiquing to be irritating at first, but it's really the only way someone can learn from mistakes. So you get used to it.

And as for you, you seem like a pretty cool guy as well. Looking forward to visiting here often. c;

hello Brand and welcome to the Silver League forums or SL for short. I hope you enjoy your stay in a area filled with battling, Pixel art, fan art (drawing and stuff), and forum games such as the pokemon name game.
there are many help full people like you have seen in this page on the forums and there are many more willing to critique you such as myself and llama and others. (on another note I never knew Lamia was a thin) I hope you enjoy your stay in this friendly enviroment

As of now I'm currently drawing some things out and plotting stuff on paper, and hopefully in the near future I'll put up some sprite versions. I've already planned out a good amount of characters, all I need now are some enemies in between, which is what I'm currently working on.

Like I said earlier, if any of you are interested in this project I've been working on, let me know and I'll make a thread dedicated to it, and perhaps fill some of you in one-on-one. And who knows, I might throw in some of your ideas in there too and give complete credit for it.
