Re: Noob here don't know how to battle
I am going to assume you are referring to strategies, as opposed to technical help.
In my opinion, the best way to learn is the Silver League Championship Tournaments. There have been 18 already and there are no special rules.

- List of Terms to Know:
Term = Role
Trick to remember the term
[Insert move] Support = A Pokemon that supports the party by using [insert move].
I am not even going to explain this one.
Baton Passer = A Pokemon that has Baton Pass, a Move that causes all the stat. changes of the user to be given to a party member.
I am not even going to explain this one.
Chesto Resto = A Pokemon that holds a Chesto berry, which automatically cures the Sleep status effect, and uses Rest to recover HP.
Chesto + Rest + o = Chesto Resto
Cleric = A Pokemon designed to heal party members and/or remove status conditions.
In classic tabletop RPGs, the Cleric class healed and supported other party members.
Glass Cannon = A Pokemon that is designed to be extremely offensive, at the cost of little to no defense.
Glass is easy to break and cannons are really powerful.
Hazard Support = Pokemon designed to set up entry hazards and/or remove entry hazards.
It supports the team regarding entry hazards.
Defogger = A Pokemon that has Defog, which is one of only a few moves that can remove entry hazards.
I am not even going to explain this one.
Priority = A move that activates before all others regardless of the Pokemons' Speed stat.; when two Pokemon use a move with priority, a big complicated mess happens.
Look up the definition of priority.
PP Stall = When one side stalls, hoping to drain all of the opponents' PP.
I am not even going to explain this one.
Rapid Spinner = A Pokemon that has Rapid Spin, which is one of only a few moves that can remove entry hazards.
I am not even going to explain this one.
Revenge Killer =Super-villainA Pokemon designed to defeat a weakened opponent; usually enters the field immediately after a team mate has fainted.
They take revenge for team mates by "killing".
STAB = The power of a move increases by 50% if its and the user's Type are the same.
STAB is an acronym for Same Type Attack Bonus.
Stall War = When both sides are using a conservative strategy, usually defensive in nature, which result in a loop of predictable moves; why GamerMadness is mad.
The two sides are stalling during a "war".
Sweeper = Offensive Pokemon designed to defeat multiple Pokemon in a row
In sports, a sweep is when, in a best out of some number of matches (e.g. best 2 out of 3), one side wins the needed number of matches in a row, right from the beginning.
Tank = Pokemon designed to be offensive and defensive; usually are not as offensive as Sweeper or defensive as Walls
Tanks are hard to hurt and are really powerful.
Wall = Pokemon designed to as defensive as possible, usually at the cost of offense
A brick wall is hard to knock over and cannot do anything to hurt you.
Win Condition = Pokemon vital to securing victory
"You will win this match, on the condition that you must not let Dragonite faint."
- Some Important Items:
Black Sludge = The Poison Pokemon holding this item gains a little health at the end of each turn.
Choice [insert anything] = The Pokemon holding this item has one of its stats. boosted, but can only use 1 of its moves.
Eviolite = If the Pokemon holding Eviolite has not reached its final form, its Defense and Special Defense are doubled.
Focus Sash = If the Pokemon holding this item is at full HP, then it is guaranteed it will have at least 1 HP after being hit.
Leftovers = The Pokemon holding this item gains a little health at the end of each turn.
Life Orb = The Pokemon holding this item deals more damage, but takes damage after every offensive move it uses
Lum Berry = A Pokemon that eats this berry is automatically cured of any status effects
Rocky Helmet = The Pokemon that uses a Physical attack on a Pokemon holding this item takes damage.
